Far cry save game patch

Ubisoft has released a patch for the Xbox version of Far Cry 2 which hopefully takes care of the corrupted save-game issue that has been hanging over the game since its release last October. There have been numerous threads about it on the official forum, as it prevented players who encountered it from continuing.

For anyone in that position, the news that the latest patch will "reduce significantly the probability of having a corrupted save-game" is likely to go down well. Developer Ubisoft Montreal expanded on this in the patch notes and said it apologised wholeheartedly:. We have been able to provide solutions that prevent those corruption problems in most cases and we haven't encountered any problems now. Perhaps the second-most interesting tweak is the ability to play ranked matches on user-made maps.

Meanwhile, the new patch also fixes a few random bugs in single-player and multiplayer, and introduces a new "hardcore" damage model where all weapons do "much more damage".
